Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington, a Greek American businesswoman and syndicated journalist, is also an author. She is a founder of The Huffington Post and the CEO of Thrive Global. Author of more than 15 books. Arianna Huffington is an author, philanthropist, television host, and also the proprietor of The Huffington Post. Her move out of Greece to England when she was 16 years old, and earned an MA from Cambridge University in Economics. When she was 21, she became the president of the renowned debating society The Cambridge Union' and was the first foreign student in the history of Cambridge University to be elected. The success of her columnist of the conservative side was confirmed after she finished her degree. With the introduction of The Huffington Post a few years later, she created an online voice-portal that provided an honest assessment of the current politics. Her fame helped to attract several well-known contributors for posting their thoughts on news as well as politics and culture. Arianna's popularity started in 2003, after she became an independent candidate in the California recall election to succeed then-Governor Davis. Apart from this she also was the leader of a Detroit project that promoted vehicles that are fuel efficient. In 2009, she was ranked by Forbes as The most influential female media personality, taking the 12th position in the list. The same year the Guardian named her to the top 100 of media lists. AOL acquired The Huffington Post from AOL in 2011. In 2012, she became the head of AOL's media group. It was comprised of several AOL owned properties like Engadget AOL Style List and Patch Media. Elli Stasinopoulos is the daughter born to Konstantinos an advisor to management and a journalist. She was very close with her father. But it was the relationship she had with her mother who has shaped her. Even during her formative period, she displayed the qualities of a leader for which are still prominently known. In her 16th year, she moved to Britain to study and enrolled at Girton College Cambridge. In the time of her studies, she belonged to Cambridge Union. Cambridge Union debating group where she became the first woman president, and also the sole foreign president. She graduated in 1972 with an MA in Economics. The career of TV host and journalist was born after graduation. Additionally, she starred alongside Bernard Levin in an episode of Face the music and started making books with his editorial assistance.
